G.E. Style Toroidal Crossover Expansion Joints Built for KHIC

Below is a unique photograph of General Electric Style Toroidal Expansion Joints in four phases of production. These expansion joints are for KHIC, General Electric’s licensee in Korea. At left is a bellows tube before the root rings were installed. At right is a bellows tube ready for forming with the root rings installed and held apart with temporary spacers. At front center is a formed bellows being dye penetrant inspected. In the background is a finished toroid being adjusted to length for shipment to a heat treater.

The expansion joints will be installed in turbine crossovers on large power generating turbines for Korea Electric Power.
