HVAC
ducting provides the route for heating and cooling medium to flow through.
It's much more than a series of ducts, however. Along the line are a complex
system of expanding joints, dampers and other controls that allow the system
to function in the most efficient way possible. By definition, heating and
cooling systems deal with materials that will change in size as they change
in temperature, so that has to be accommodated in the design and by the
materials used in constructing those systems.
HVAC Ducting
and Design
HVAC ducting allows heated
and cooled air—or other mediums—to reach the appropriate zones. This system
of ducting has to be provided with some components that allow it to function
properly. For example, expansion compensators allow lines that carry hot or
cold water to flex and retract as their temperature goes up and down,
ensuring strength and reliability in the line itself. Pressure relief valves
ensure that the HVAC line is safe from sudden spikes in pressure. All of
these components work together to provide an efficient
system.
HVAC Ducting and
Efficiency
Zones allow the energy carried through an HVAC
system to be allocated to the areas of the system that need it the most. In
the simplest terms this would mean, for example, that an office that isn't
occupied at night doesn't receive as much heating energy as one that does.
This type of zone control is provided by electronics, mechanics and by
devices such as dampers, which allow the flow of air to be increased, reduced
or cut off entirely depending upon the need of the
user.
Advantages of Proper HVAC
Ducting
The energy that flows through a large HVAC system
is tremendous. Because of the expense involved, it's imperative that HVAC
ducting is controlled in a way that ensures that it provides energy to the
right places and that energy isn't wasted on zones that do not need it. The
proper design and engineering also ensures safety by enabling the components
of the system to endure stress from motion. Senior Flexonics Pathway can
provide components that are manufactured to the highest standards and that
are appropriate for the most sophisticated HVAC ducting systems.
Energy
efficiency starts with controlling the allocation of resources. The energy
you use for heating and cooling needs to be channeled through your HVAC
ducting in a way that ensures that it goes to the right
places.
